The Investigation of the Effect of 8-Week Walking Football Activity on Life Satisfaction and Heart Rate Variability in Elderly Men

The aim of the study was to examine effect walking football applied elderly male sedentary individuals on life satisfaction and heart rate variability. 22 volunteers whose physical activity level determined by International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) were included this study. Volunteers divided into 11 exercise groups control random sampling. While group had no participation, performed a 20-minute warm-up, they played 60 minutes football, 10-minute cool down. This done 2 days week across an 8-week period. In study, Life Satisfaction Scale (LSS) used in groups, Heart Rate (HR), Variability (HRV), heart-mind coherence, maximum coherence measurements with Heartmath-Inner Balance device. “Paired t test” for analyzing pretest-posttest differences variables while "Independent test" between groups. Findings show that there significant difference group’s HRV, pre-post test LSS results (p<0.05), although HR variable (p>0.05). No found pre-test post-tests mean comparison all According results, it can be concluded has positive satisfaction, older adults.
